More About the Certificate IV Home and Community Care Course | Is this Course for You?

Our Certificate IV in Home and Community Care course is suitable for those who have completed a CHC30212 Certificate III in Home and Community Care or equivalent and are primarily working in the residential or HACC environment within defined organisation guidelines and service plans.

During the course you will learn to carry out activities related to following safety procedures for direct care work through Home and Community care, understanding dementia, using communication skills to build relationships and many other key skills needed to work effectively in the Home and Community Care industry.

Key Features in this Course

  • Theory and essential knowledge component can be delivered via classroom workshops and online interaction.
  • The practical skills will be developed via on the job via the placement in a Community Services facility, under supervision, over a specified period of time. Alternatively, we recognise the active participation and/or employment of individuals currently working within the industry.
  • Assessment of practical skills will be assessed on the job.

Employment Opportunities

Those with this qualification may be promoted to supervise and/or coordinate a number of services with service providers.

Job position titles could also include; Care Team Leader, Respite Carer, Transport Coordinator, Activity worker and many more.

To be suitable for this course you must have completed the pre-requisite units or the CHC30312 Certificate III Home and Community Care.
