Is this course for you?

This industry requires energetic, compassionate and caring people to assist with the support of those who are the oldest members of our community. You would be required to provide psychological, practical and emotional support using the skills you learn from this qualification to compliment your knowledge and ability.

The Certificate IV in Leisure and Health allows you to assess the human behaviour of those requiring support and implement leisure activities or programs to support their everyday lives. These programs focus on initiatives that are beyond clinical care and aim to be interactive, recreational and health related activities.

On-the-job Training | Work Placement

This course includes 120 hours of work placement in a real facility. This is an opportunity for you to gain day to day experience within the industry as well as being able to work with a mentor on site. We aim to find you placement in a facility near you and hope to make this process a simple one for you to have the most rewarding experience with us.

Key features in this course

• Core unit theory and essential knowledge is delivered in the classroom
• The practical skills will be developed on the job during the work placement component in an appropriate facility under supervision over a specified period of time
• Assessment of practical skills will be assessed during the work placement component

Possible job opportunities include an Activities Officer, Community Leisure Officer, Disability Officer, Diversional Therapy Assistant, Leisure Office and Recreational Activities Officer.
